Our Story
Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, originally known as Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, Ladang Midlands, was founded in the 1920s by estate workers with the support of their employer. As the number of devotees grew, the temple was repaired and later relocated in 1960 due to the expansion of the Klang–Kuala Lumpur Highway. With support from the government, residents and devotees, the new temple was completed in 1961, followed by the Kumbabishegam ceremony. The Temple Committee was formally established in the 1980s, and the temple received registration approval in 1990. Major renovations followed in 1996–1997, and as Ladang Midlands developed into Section 7, Shah Alam, plans were made for a larger temple. In 2008, approval was obtained for 1.25 acres of land and construction of the new temple began. Today, the temple continues to serve the community through religious and academic classes, student programmes, and welfare assistance for those in need.
“கோவில் இல்லாத ஊரில் குடியிருக்க வேண்டாம்” என்ற நம் முன்னோர்களின் நம்பிக்கையைப் பின்பற்றி, மிட்லெண்ட்ஸ் தோட்டத்தில் குடியேறிய தொழிலாளர்கள் தங்கள் வழிபாட்டிற்காக ஆலயத்தை அமைத்தனர். 1900களின் தொடக்கத்தில், ஜூலெண்ட்ஸ் அண்ட் லோலேண்ட்ஸ் நிறுவனத்தின் மிட்லெண்ட்ஸ் தோட்ட நிர்வாகம் தோட்ட அலுவலகத்திற்கு அருகில் வழிபாட்டு இடத்தை வழங்கியது. அங்கு ஸ்ரீ மஹா மாரியம்மன் ஆலயம் அமைக்கப்பட்டு, தோட்ட நிர்வாகிகள், எழுத்தர்கள் மற்றும் கங்காணிகளால் நிர்வகிக்கப்பட்டது. 1960ல் கிள்ளான்–கோலாலம்பூர் நெடுஞ்சாலை விரிவுபடுத்தப்பட்டதால் ஆலயம் தற்போதைய இடத்திற்கு மாற்றப்பட்டு, 1961ல் திருக்குட நன்னீராட்டு விழா நடைபெற்றது. 1990ல் ஆலயம் முறையாகப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டு, 1996ல் திருப்பணி மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டு, 1997ல் மீண்டும் திருக்குட நன்னீராட்டு விழா நடைபெற்றது. 2000ம் ஆண்டு முதல் திரு. இரா. மோகன் ராஜ் தலைமையிலான குழு ஆலய வளர்ச்சிக்காக தொடர்ந்து பாடுபட்டது. நீண்ட முயற்சிக்குப் பின்னர் 2008ல் ஆலய நிலம் முறையாகப் பெறப்பட்டது. 2006ல் தொடங்கிய திருப்பணியின் மூலம், வெள்ளப்பாதிப்பைத் தவிர்க்க எட்டு அடி உயரத்திற்கு மண் நிரப்பி புதிய ஆலயம் கட்டப்பட்டது. பழைய மூலஸ்தானம் இருந்த அதே இடத்தில் புதிய ஆலயத்தின் மூலஸ்தானமும் அமைக்கப்பட்டது. ஐந்து கோபுரங்களுடன் பிரமாண்டமாக எழுந்த புதிய ஸ்ரீ மஹா மாரியம்மன் ஆலயத்தில் அன்னையின் அருளாட்சி 2 பிப்ரவரி 2014 அன்று ஆரம்பமானது. இன்று வரை ஆலயம் நம் சமூகத்தின் இறைநம்பிக்கை, ஒற்றுமை மற்றும் பாரம்பரியத்தின் அடையாளமாகத் தொடர்ந்து விளங்கி வருகிறது.
